CSU SPRING DANCE CONCERT 2024: Original choreography by CSU faculty members, students, and guest artists. This year’s annual concert centers around student learning opportunities, bridging ties with the community, and supporting the inclusivity of diverse forms of expression.

Featuring visiting Guest Artist, Errin Weaver, and her dance company Mojuba! Dance Collective; Guest Artist, Alice Blumenfeld, Executive/Artistic Director of Abrepaso; and Michele Ainza, CSU Director of Dance and Artistic Director of MADE; together with student choreographers, Raquel Cairns, Na’Ron Goggans, Alessandra Rovito, Vivi-Anne Stein, and Bryon Ward. Additionally, Ohio Contemporary Ballet will be joining as guest artists and performers.

Reparaciones es un cortometraje de animación experimental que explora el fenómeno de la migración(forzada y voluntaria), a través de la fragmentación y modulación de un personaje: Una silla que se mueve como resultado de un visible efectivo. Fuerzas que a veces representan la colonialidad, en otros la industrialización y en los más complejos, las consecuencias de la guerra. El objeto silla incorpora una búsqueda en medio de la marginalización, la adaptación y la desigualdad, a través de una serie de escenarios urbanos en que símbolos de la diáspora africana que sobrevivieron y dispersos en las Américas se muestran. La silla encarna el resultado de estas interacciones reclamando expresiones de resistencia como la percusión africana y el uso de edredones.
