Station Hope

 —  —

Virtual event

Station Hope—this year, a virtual festival—is a jubilant community event celebrating Cleveland’s social justice history and exploring contemporary struggles for freedom and equity. Engage with local artists as they envision, interrogate, and seek out hope from where they are stationed. Audience members will participate virtually and witness livestreamed performances of theatre, music, storytelling, and dance inspired by the most important issues of our time. CPT Staff will broadcast (safely and responsibly) from the historic grounds of Cleveland’s first authenticated Underground Railroad site, St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Cellocentric at Hudson Library

 —  —

Hudson Public Library, 96 Library St, Hudson. OH 44236

The Hudson Library & Historical Society’s Music Series continues with a concert by Cellocentric. This performance will feature a mix of original compositions along with cover tunes from artists like the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and others.

Cellocentric features Doug Wood on guitar and mandolin, Carolina Borja on cello and Arleigh Savage on bassoon. Wood’s New Age fingerstyle guitar work, along with an occasional switch to mandolin, blends with Borja's classically- and Latin-punctuated cello work and Savage's rich melodic overtones on the bassoon. Each of their unique talents blends into a crossover featuring a sense of jazzy improvisation mixed with classical elements.
